Introducing Our New Online Bookstore

We are so pleased to have our new Word Alive Press Bookstore up and running, with new titles being added weekly! Now that it’s been up for a while, I’d love to talk about some of the features available on this new site.

Navigation

When you visit the site, you may notice that our new bookstore has some great new menu options which allow our visitors to be very specific about what they’re shopping for. Whether you’re looking for a fun book for a five-year-old, a moving biography, or a mystery that is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat, you can easily navigate to the correct page using our easy to navigate drop-down menu. You can even choose to whittle your options down further by using the filter option on each page. For instance, if you’re on our Word Alive Press Contest Winners page (one of my favourites), you can choose to just see the autobiographies that have won our contest, and get inspired by one of the amazing titles available to you there.

The home page for our new bookstore also has some fun new options. You can choose to browse through our Featured Collection to see a wide variety of what we have in store, or meet some of our amazing authors—and learn more about their books—in our Staff Picks section.

If you’re visiting our site to search for a particular book, series, or author, that’s easy too. Simply type what you’re looking for into the search bar and you will be directed exactly where you want to go—it’s as easy as that!

Shopping

Are you looking for a book that is not yet off the press? Not a problem! You have the option to pre-order your copy even before the ink is dry. When the books are off the press, we’ll be sure to send the book your way, right away.

Once you’ve selected the books you’d like to purchase, checking out will also be a breeze. You can create an account if you like—allowing your contact and payment information to be securely saved for future visits—or you can check out as a guest. If this is your first visit, it’s as simple as 1-2-3 to fill out your shipping information, choose our low-cost standard shipping method, and put through your payment. After that, it won’t be long until you’re reading in your favourite chair.

If you need a title sent to you lickety-split and our standard shipping just won’t do, please feel free to contact us directly at 1-866-967-3782, and we’ll give you a quote for express shipping so that you have it in time.

If you find a book that you are really excited about, and you want to bulk order it for your reading club to read, I have good news for you. We are pleased to offer free shipping within Canada for all orders over $100!

Word Alive Press Authors

Here at Word Alive Press, we are so proud to have been a part of bringing our authors’ books to readers near and far. If you’ve published your book with us, you already know that your book is made available to purchase through many online and brick-and-mortar stores. And, of course, you will always get the quickest possible return on your investment by selling the books that you purchased personally. However, did you know that you receive a higher royalty percentage for any books sold through our new online bookstore? The royalty is 30% of retail rather than 10–20% of wholesale via other venders. So, for anyone who is unable to purchase a copy of your book from you, make sure to provide a link to your book’s listing on our bookstore on your author website or social media account.

If you have previously shared a link to your book’s listing on our Great Canadian Author site, be sure to update the link to its new listing on our site. We are still working on uploading our catalogue of titles. So, if you have an older title that was listed on our Great Canadian Author site but is not yet live on the new bookstore, please feel free to contact us and we can make your title a priority.
