Speaking Engagement on Caregiving

Annette Lane & Marlette Reed

On March 23, from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, Annette and Marlette, authors of Making Meaning in Older Age, will be sharing at a seminar called “Grit and Determination: Perseverance in Caregiving” at Foothills Alliance Church in Calgary, AB.

No matter what living arrangement your elderly parents are in, you are a caregiver – physically, emotionally, psychologically and/or spiritually. As adult children, often with children yourselves, helping your parents navigate these challenging years can take a toll! This seminar will examine resilience – something necessary in the lives of caregivers (and their loved ones), in the context of the challenges of caregiving in older adults’ later years; it will discuss developing resilience in your own life, and the deeper meanings of caregiving.

Dr. Annette Lane is an expert in gerontological nursing. She has published widely on the issue of older adults.

Chaplain Marlette Reed has provided pastoral care to individuals across the life span for many years. She worked as a hospice chaplain for almost a decade.

Twins Annette and Marlette have presented nationally and internationally on the issues of later life.
